Summary
Plasterwork ceiling belonging to the remodelling for the 4th Earl of Powis by G.F. Bodley, 1902-4. The new ceiling was based on that of the Long Gallery at Aston Hall, Birmingham with squared interlocking quatrefoils inset with pendants and floral sprays circumscribed by broad shallow enriched ribs. The design extends into the window bay to the north side of the room. The decorative plaster in the window embrasure to the opposite side is largely original, C. 1593, and was conserved in 2011
