Summary
A saddle cover from the Powis Castle horse livery. Black bear skin lined with black patent leather. The saddle cover is made up of two almost circular pieces of bear skin joined on their straight edges and folding. There is a leather tab and buckle on the reverse side. The stitch marks on either side of the lining shows that it is machine sewn and edged on all sides. This item is listed as "Two pieces of black fur" on Lord Powis's inventory.
