Summary
The seventh of eighteen taxidermy display cases containing stuffed birds. Most of the birds date from c.1850, and the oak cases were probably made by Henry Shaw, Shrewsbury (1812-1887). This display case contains: a raven, a Carrion crow, a Hooded crow, a rook, a jackdaw, a magpie, a jay, a chough, a nutcracker, a swallow, a House Martin, a Purple Martin, a Sand Martin, a swift, an Alpine swift, a nightjar, a cuckoo, a hoopoe, a roller, a bee eater, a kingfisher, a Great black woodpecker, a Green woodpecker, a Great spotted woodpecker, a Lesser spotted woodpecker, a Nuthatch, a Tree creeper, a Wood pigeon, a Stock dove, a Turtle dove, a male passenger pigeon and a Wryneck.
