Summary
One of a pair of Empire six branch gilt bronze candelabra, the dish tops on Egyptian columns decorated with acanthus leaves and peacock feathers on tripod bases decorated with Terpsichore with muses and sphinx heads, frosted glass dishes in the top, signed 'Thomire U Paris' Pierre-Philippe Thomire was bronze caster to Napoleon.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust with funding from The National Heritage Memorial Fund from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and Powis Estate Trustees in August 1999.
