Sculpture, bronze, The Hindu God Lakshminarayana - Vishnu seated, four-armed and showing the gesture of reassurance, with his Consort Laksmi on his lap, Indian School, c.1800. One of eleven miniature images of the Hindu deities; a small bronze figure of the god Lakshminarayana, Vishnu seated, four-armed and showing the gesture of reassurance, with his consort Laksmi on his lap holding a lotus. His pendant foot is supported by a lotus and there is no figure of Garuda (as in the similar figure BR.22). India c.1800.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
