Sculpture, bronze, The Hindu God Uma-Maheshvara - Shiva seated with his consort Uma seated on his lap, Indian School, c.1800. One of eleven miniature images of the Hindu deities; a small bronze figure of the god Uma-Maheshvara. Shiva seated, four-armed, holding the axe and antelope and showing the gestures of protection and gift bestowing, with his consort Uma seated on his lap. India c.1800.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
