Summary
The textile elements of a state bed, an 'angel' or flying-tester bedstead, c.1720, the large moulded canopy and head panel covered in Chinese painted silk decorated in 'famille rose' with flowering branches on a gold ground. Wooden headboard, tester/moulded canopy, inner and outer upper valances, all in painted silk. Non-matching head curtains and bedspread in cream silk. Foot posts covered in metal-thread brocade.
