Summary
Fire grate. One of two cast iron fire grates, the shaped backs with 3 knop finials and the date 1847 above a central cartouche and shield with 3 wolves' heads flanked by the initials 'M' and 'B', the front comprising railing of alternating plain and three fleur-de-lys uprights united to the front feet by 'S'- scrolls. Made by Hardman's of Birmingham to a design by Pugin.
