Summary
A mahogany elbow chair, one of a pair, English, 19th century, in the style of Hepplewhite, with a shield-shape back, the pierced vertical splats carved with foliate motifs, shaped armrests above a serpentine-front seat, reeded square-section front legs and plain rear legs, joined by variously heighted and positioned stretchers, the drop-in seat re-upholstered with gros-point needlework depicting a bird surrounded by leaves and flowers in pale blues, pinks and creams on a brown ground, horsehair stuffed.

Date of acquisition by the National Trust unknown. Recorded at Hatchlands Park in the 1965 inventory.
