Summary
A mahogany and marble occasional table, the top Italian, second half 19th century, the circular specimen marble top inlaid with a chessboard to the centre surrounded by a circle of triangles and bands of various widths, with a modern protective glass cover, the channelled frieze above three turned and spirally fluted supports joined by a triangular-shaped tier and on flattened bun feet. This table is a pair to NT 1166470.
Provenance
Property of Mr. H. S. Goodhart-Rendel (1887-1959) who gave Hatchlands Park to the National Trust in 1945. Following Mr. Goodhart-Rendel's death the tables were Accepted in Lieu and transferred by the Treasury to the National Trust in 1962.
