Summary
A mahogany and marble occasional table, the top Italian, second half 19th century, the circular specimen marble top inlaid with a floral motif to the centre surrounded by several bands and a band of geometric 'ribbon', with a modern protective glass cover, the channelled frieze above three turned and spirally fluted supports joined by a triangular-shaped tier and on flattened bun feet. A paper label to the underside of the marble top reading ' MAGAZZINO DI Lavori diversi iu pietre agate, marmi di Sicilia, come lavole a varii disegni, manichi da collello, fioccagli, sopra- [damaged section], cammini, [damaged section]ari ed altri lavori in musaico. Provenance
Property of Mr. H. S. Goodhart-Rendel (1887-1959) who gave Hatchlands Park to the National Trust in 1945. Following Mr. Goodhart-Rendel's death the tables were Accepted in Lieu and transferred by the Treasury to the National Trust in 1962.
