Summary
A parcel-gilt and dark waxed daybed, English, first quarter 19th century, the shaped and padded backrest supported by an out-curved arm, the reeded seat rail supported by reeded and tapering legs, headed by paterae, and terminating in brass castors, the foot of the daybed with two scrolls flanking a small rectangular panel simulating rosewood, the loose squab cushion, bolster, two throw cushions, back and sides re-upholstered (1981) in peach Gainsborough damask.
