Summary
A mahogany writing table, English, early 19th century, the rectangular top above two frieze oak-lined drawers with wooden knobs, two dummy drawers to the rear, the plain end supports decorated with reeded scrolls to the base, each support with two shaped and incised disc feet, the supports joined by a turned stretcher with roundels to the outside of the end supports. A pair to writing table (NT 1166556).
Provenance
Property of Mr. H. S. Goodhart-Rendel (1887-1959) who gave Hatchlands Park to the National Trust in 1945. Following Mr. Goodhart-Rendel's death the tables were Accepted in Lieu and transferred by the Treasury to the National Trust in 1962. Listed in the Hatchlands Park 1965 inventory.
