Summary
One of a pair of rare South American silver-gilt filigree peacock incense burners (sahumadores), Ayacucho, Peru, first half nineteenth century. The finely worked models hinged at the waist. The stands with filigree gallery and panel supports, minor lead soldered repairs (with a later D and J Wellby wood case NT11565.3).
