Summary
Embroidered canvas frieze. Fabric: Undyed baste fibre canvas. Embroidery: Wool dyed grey, beige and brown, and ivory silk in cross stitch. Design: Simplified stem and flower repeat below twisted rope border. Lining: ? Fragments only. (i) Dull green wool plain weave. (ii) Baste fibre plain weave. Structure: One selvage. Cut on three sides folded.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
