Summary
Gold embroidered mat. Fabric: (a) Ivory cotton silk satin weave. (b) Undyed cotton plain weave. Embroidery: Worked through two fabrics (a) and (b). Metal thread on yellow cotton core (a) plied and (b) single conehead. Silk dyed pink, magenta, gold and pale blue. Straight stitch. Design: Centre field circle of radiating flowers, within a border of flowers formalised. Trimming: Metal thread fringe as (a). 3.8cms with yellow cotton. Lining: Off white cotton satin weave. Label: Laundry marks. Structure: Hand sewn.
