Summary

Coin. A Papal State Pope Pius IX one Baiocchi copper coin. The obverse shows the Papal shield with the Papal crown above, surrounded by the inscription PIVS.IX.PONT.MAXIMVS.ANN.V. The reverse shows the inscription 1 / BAIOCCO / 1850 / R all surrounded by a laurel wreath.

Provenance

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
