Summary
Coins. Two British Queen Victoria silver florin coins. The obverse of each coin shows the head of Queen Victoria, with a 'Jubilee bust', facing left and wearing a crown, veil and necklace. It is surrounded by an inscription VICTORIA.DEI.GRATIA and has a beaded border. The reverse of each coin shows crowned cruciform shields surrounded by an inscription BRITT.REG.1889.FID.DEF. with sceptres in the four angles within a beaded border. The edges are milled.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
