Summary
Gift box. A gift box made in printed card and folded flat. When assembled it makes the shape of a house and the four sides have pictures of the story of 'Hansel and Gretel' and the witch. On the roof are pictures of gingerbread and pretzels and the words 'Haeberlein Metzger'. On one end is a stick-on angel holding a star with the name MR YORKE. [possibly a gift from the German servants, who worked at Erddig, to Simon Yorke]
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
