Summary
Heraldic shield. A shield, with a crown-topped, gold sceptre underneath and with a brown background, painted onto panelling attached to the ceiling, and surrounded by a rectangular, wooden frame. The white shield bears a pair of salient and crossed, red foxes, with a red crescent above them, and a red left hand above that. There is an inscription above and below the shield.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
