Summary
Heraldic shield. An oval shield surmounted by a red and gold crown and with a brown background. It is painted onto panelling attached to the ceiling, and surrounded by a rectangular, wooden frame. The shield is divided into four quarters. The first and fourth quarters each show three gold fleurs-de-lys on a blue background. The second and third quarters each show three gold lions passant gardant on a red background. All is enclosed by a blue ribbon and the words "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE".

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
