Summary
Heraldic shield. A shield, with a brown background, painted onto panelling attached to a wall, and surrounded by a rectangular, wooden frame. The black shield bears a white chevron between three white fleurs-de-lys. The coat of arms belongs to Collwyn ap Tangno of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire, and relates to one of the fifteen Noble Tribes of North Wales.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
