Summary
Theatre programme. A pale mauve silk satin weave theatre programme, printed in black ink and with a fringe on four sides. The fabric is printed with a programme for the Theatre Royal, Wrexham, Tuesday 16th November 1869. The manager is listed as Mr Phillip Hannanon. The production is under the patronage of Captain Yorke and the officers and non-commissioned officers of the Royal Denbigh Volunteer Rifle Corps. The programme includes a production of "Mother's Dying Child" and Ballad by Miss Lorna Selwyn, a Comic Song by Miss Bows, a Comic Song by Mr Lacy, and was to conclude with "Byron's Popular Burlesque La Somnambula, or 'the Supper, the Sleeper, and the Merry Swiss Boy'".
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
