Summary
Bag. A netted bag of brown, baste fibre, diamond-mesh net (five centimetre mesh). The net is formed over a brass ring at each end. A hollow round braided cotton cord, dyed brown, is attached by a half-hitch, at its centre, to one ring and the two ends are threaded through the edges of the net, emerging through the opposite ring and continuing on to pass through a hole in a pointed soft-wood stake, where it is secured with an overhand knot.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
