Summary
Bag. A rectangular mail bag of cotton fabric, folded in half, with raw edges stitched on three sides, catching the label in at the bottom corner. The top is turned in a hem creating a drawstring channel. The original address is to P. Yorke, Ruabon, crossed out by hand, and forwarded to Plas Noble, Sontley. The stamp is a pink George VI postage stamp, postmarked Aug, 1953.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
