Envelope. A blue paper envelope postmarked 23/12/1952 and addressed to Simon Yorke, Esq. and having a 2 1/2d stamp in the front top right-hand corner, showing the late King George VI, who had died on 6/2/1952.

Provenance

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
