Summary
Seat pad. One of a set of five 19th century seat pads with a cover of crimson silk warp and crimson worsted weft in warp faced satin weave, trimmed with piped self fabric. The pad is hand sewn, being originally buttoned, over hessian and with a hose hair filling.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
