Summary
Bowler hat. A bowler hat dated 1950 (circa). The fabric is black wool over card, trimmed with black petersham ribbon edging with onle a fragment remaining. The lining has conpletely gone. Mr Frank Hughes reports that Philip Yorke (1905-78) wore the bowler while cleaning the chimneys after his brother Simon had died and when he was living at Erddig.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
