Summary
Surplice, A surplice dated 1950 (circa). Fabric of undyed bleached linen plain weave. Manufacturers label 'A.G.Almond Ltd.,/11 Sidney Street/Cambridge'; and on tape 'R10'. Trimmed with linen button and buttonhole. Pin gathered to neck band, hand and machine sewn. Very crushed.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
