Summary
Trousers. A pair of flannel trousers dated 1st half 20th century. Fabric of cream wool twill weave, raised nap. Belt holders, two adjustable straps and buckles (Paris Solide), two hip pockets, buttoned fly opening, turn-ups, hand and machine sewn. Tailors label 'R. Buttress and Co./University Outfitters,/Cambridge'. Hand written name possibly crossed out. Lined with undyed bleached linen plain weave. Creased.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
