Summary
Baby's chemise. A baby's chemise dated 1900 (circa). Fabric of undyed bleached cotton, plain weave, lawn. Trimmed with machine lace edging and open worked hems. Hand sewn, edged at neck. Darned and fragile. Possibly part of the Yorke family layette.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
