Summary
Shawl. A machine embroidered shawl dating from the 1st half of the 20th century. Fabric of pale lilac synthetic, plain weave. Embroidery of possibly floss silk, ivory, peach, blue, green, on reverse cream cotton. Design of scrolling stems and flowers. Trimmed with knotted fringe of lilac and ivory. Machine sewn fringe on four sides.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
