Summary
Uniform jacket. A black uniform jacket dated 1880 (circa) made of black wool with a raised nap. It is trimmed with black and red couched braids, frogging and decorative motifs, black knotted buttons and toggles; black and metal thread bullion worked crown and cross; black braid; black velvet; fourteen hooks and eyes; two tail pockets; and one inside breast pocket. The lining is of black silk twill weave, padded in places; black leather; interlining canvas and wadding; brown cotton twill weave; and beige cotton satin weave. Hand and machine sewn.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
