Summary
Uniform Jacket. A navy blue wool twill weave uniform jacket dated 1915 (circa). Trimmed with five studs inside collar; two hooks and eyes; two epaulettes; nine buttons missing on front and cuffs; four flapped pockets. Lined with navy blue mohair plain weave; and grey cotton twill weave. Label 'John Smith and Son (Chester Ltd)/ 14 Eastgate Row, Chester' and handwritten 'S.YORKE ESQ'. Hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
