Summary
Undergraduate gown. A black Corpus Christi, Cambridge undergraduate gown from the 1920s. Fabric of black worsted plain weave balanced. Trimmed with black velvet ribbon. Hand and machine sewn. Label 'University Robe Makers and Ryder Amies (Late Parfitt) Cambridge', and handwritten 'S. YORKE'.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
