Summary
Day dress. A day dress with matching jacket, dated 1940 (circa). The dress fabric is of of black resist dyed white rayon crepe with the design of a flower head; and black rayon crepe, twill weave ridge, satin on reverse. Lined with possibly white silk black cotton tassel; top stitching, loops for belt. Machined embroidery of black between patterned and plain fabric. Lined with cream cotton, plain weave. Label '42'; and laundry marks. Hand and machine sewn.
