Summary
Evening coat. A black cotton velvet evening coat dated 2nd quarter of the 20th century. Lined with purple and gold silk brocade composite weaves with a repeated pattern of flowers and leaves. Trimmed with three self-fabric covered buttons and cord loops; a coathanger; an inside pocket. Hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
