Summary
Overcoat. A black wool twill herringbone weave overcoat, dated 1955. Trimmed with two flapped pockets; two inside pockets; nine black buttons; and a broken coathanger. Lined with black silk satin weave. With one embroidered and torn label; and a second label 'Henry Poole and Co./37,38,39 Saville Row London W.1./1955 No2060/Mr. N. Yorke Lodge. Made in England.' Hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
