Summary
Morning coat. A morning coat of black wool twill herringbone weave, with a raised nap, and dated 1952. It is trimmed with one breast pocket, one inside breast pocket, seven black buttons and a coathanger; and lined with black silk twill weave ridge, partly padded; white silk twill weave ridge, partly padded; and black cotton twill weave. It has a label marked 'Hall Brothers Ltd, Oxford.' and typed 'N.A.Yorke-Lodge, Esq. 28.6.52.' and is hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
