Summary
Peaked cap. Khaki worsted, twill weave military peaked cap dated 1925 (circa). Trimmed with a brown leather strap; two embossed buttons; and an embossed badge 'Royal Welch Fusiliers'. Lined with green leather cloth, brown velvet and a padded gold silk diagonal ridge. Hand and machine sewn. Two labels 'John Smith and Son (Chester) Ltd., Chester'; 'As worn by George V. Patent No. 10005-08, Cushion Fitting Positive Ventilation Fractional Sizes. BON TON IVY Comfort Hat'; and an envelope fragment and address found inside the crown, handwritten '12.15 PM. 29 JUL 25 S. Yorke Esqre. 4th Batt. R.W.F. Miltown Carry Ramsey Isle of Man'.
