Summary
Riding jacket. A riding jacket dated 1930, of black/grey wool twill weave with raised nap. Trimmed with two flapped pockets, two tail pockets, inside breast flapped pocket and inside skirt flapped pocket, three black buttons with crossed foxes and initial. A coathanger, two black buttons, and four silk buttons. Lined with ivory, black and grey woven stripe silk; and black and cream wool twill weave check. Hand and machine sewn. Label inside breast pocket 'J.H. Davies, Telephone 1412 Nicholas St. Chester'; and handwritten label 'S. Yorke Esq. January 1930'.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
