Summary
School blazer. A brown and black warp and weft, raised nap school blazer dated 1915 (circa). It is trimmed with an embroidered, red silk label 'C C' in satin stitch and has three patch pockets, a coathanger, one patch pocket inside and three black buttons. It has a label 'Thomas Plant & Co. Ltd. Cheltenham. [...] YORKE'. It is lined with an undyed cotton, plain weave material printed brown and designed with a vertical stripe. The blazer is both hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
