Rug. A machine woven (?), chenille Axminster hearth rug c.1860-90 with a mock Turkish pattern. It may have been used as a carriage rug.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
