Summary
Textile fragment. Fragment of plain weave linen printed red, pink, blue, yellow (over printed for green), with a repeat of 52 x 38 cm of vertical bands of flower sprays tied with ribbons and twisted ribbons of lace on a sprigged ground. It is lined with undyed plain weave cotton and undyed plain weave linen, trimmed with scalloped braid of cotton with wool dyed green, peach, blue, red and cream, brocaded and looped 25mm wide as edging and has a flower self fabric 280mm wide edging. It is edged on one side, cut on three sides, hand and machine sewn.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
