Summary
Pinnacle - A sculptured sandstone Gothic Pinnacle from the Parish Church of St Giles, Wrexham. The southern one of two ecclesiastical pinnacles with crocket decorated finials and blind traceried canopies with a carved head, on two sides only on (i) and three sides (ii). The shaft below is worked on two faces suggestive of it originally having been set on a corner and not possible to view ‘in the round’.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
