Summary
Toilet box. A rosewood(?) veneered toilet box, the hinged lid revealing a fitted interior with ten glass containers; drawer below; three flat rect. bottles with wide 'shoulders'; a narrow comb box; a smaller narrow box; a rectangular box and a circular box. The contents comprise ten glass containers; two small cylindrical jars; a brush; two small leather cases -one containing a stick pin; one button. Inscribed 'Presented to Philip Yorke/April 28th 1870' . All containers have Yorke crest on lid. In the drawer, a group of objects including a cutthroat razor, penknife, buttons, button hooks, two enamel badges (Wrexham Cycling Club), studs, tiepins etc.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973. Presented to Philip Yorke/April 28th 1870
