Summary
A rule. A measuring device consisting of two rules fixed by a central pivot. A piece of string is attached to the longer rule. The whole is contained within a red cardboard box with a close-fitting lid.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
