Summary
A box. A rectangular cardboard box with a close-fitting lid made to contain chocolates. It is marked on the base - 'ROWNTREE'S ELECT COCO and the lid is printed with a picture of a young woman and marked '1lb Net. ROWNTREE YORK ENGLAND'. On the inside it is marked 'ROWNTREE'S CHOCOLATE Makers to HM the King By Appointment'. Handwritten 'Loyd Ships (?) Moorland House'.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
