Summary
Toy screen. A three fold, thin card screen on legs with a pediment shaped top from the dolls' house. On one side there is a view of a thatched cottage in a circular cartouche on one panel, while the other two have views of a river in a rectangular cartouche. On the other side there are three night time scenes; the left hand panel shows a picture of a sailing boat pinned to the sky, the centre an owl perched on a prunus branch (which stretches across all three panels) and the right hand panel an owl in flight. There is a message printed across the top and bottom of this side, which does not make a sentence and seems to confirm that the screen was hand made, possibly from a greeting card. The initials F. C. P. appear on both sides; possibly the artist's.
