Summary
Wallpaper and attachments. The wallpaper and attachments of the south wall of the dolls' house nursery, with blue washed wallpaper covering the back of the cupboard; another paper can be seen beneath the blue paper at the bottom. In the centre of the wall and stuck to it is a white painted fireplace, the pattern on it being made from tiny shells(?) and cotton thread, then painted over. The inside of the grate is painted black. Around the fireplace and at the top of the wall is a thin band of striped paper as a border (reminiscent of the striped borders in Erddig's Chapel). Above the fireplace an oval wreath of flowers is glued to the wall, with a gold paper scroll and cherub each side and a pink silk? ribbon tacked across below. Above the wreath is an oval picture of two little girls and a little boy in 18th century style dress in the centre of an ornate gold and white frame, possibly of Dresden trim. A paper posy of flowers and gilded foliage are above. To the left of the fireplace is an oval vignette, COMBIEN POUR UN?; a little girl at a wash tub and a little boy holding out a stocking. To the right of the fireplace is another oval vignette, LA TENTATION, of a little boy leaning in to kiss a little girl.
